Sign up for a course certified by The Ladder Association

One of our many industry-standard courses, the Ladder Association Steps and Ladders covers the safe use of ladders, steps and similar pieces of equipment. From ensuring your ladders are in good condition, to minimising risks in the workplace, this half-day course is designed to keep you safer at work.

 

This TLA certified course is £105+VAT per person.

 

We also provide a range of supporting courses, including PASMA tower training and safety harness courses.

This course covers:

  • Registration and induction

  • Theory session

  • Relevant health and safety

  • Legislation and regulation, codes of practice

  • Product standards

  • Classification

  • Select appropriate work at height equipment

  • Risk assessment

  • Ladder and stepladder types

  • Accidents and hazards

  • Safe use

  • Inspect ladders and stepladders for damage

  • Understanding of the ladder inspection report and register

  • Theory test (multi choice)

  • Practical Instruction in use of leaning ladder and step ladder

  • Practical test

Upon successful completion candidates are issued with:

  • A Ladder Association identity card and certificate, which is widely accepted and recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and is valid for 5 years

  • BLMA ‘leaning ladder and stepladder users guide’ booklet

What will I need for this course?

For this course, you will need to bring:

 

  • Hard hat

  • Safety boots

  • High-vis vest

Proof of your NI number (e.g. NI card)
